N2 - The covalent attachment of organogold(i) moieties to the Lindqvist-type polyoxovanadate results in a measurable charge re-distribution across the formed Au-{V6}-Au linkages. Scanning probe microscopy studies of these hybrid compounds on the Au(111) surface demonstrate the increase in the number of switching states with stepwise increase in molecular conductance, compared with unfunctionalised hexavanadates.
