N2 - One of the more apparent results of the globalization encompassing all the aspects of human life is the development of the mobile communication. The cellular communications market is one of the most profitable and attractive sectors of the world economy. In Russia (RF), this market has been experiencing a rapid development throughout the last 10-15 years. Therefore, the major operators have quickly tapped and occupied this market and now strive to keep out any new players. The study of the various aspects of the current situation in the Russian telecommunication industry and the prospects of its further development has been a part of the authors’ scientific interests for a long time. In the two new articles on this topic, the authors address the analysis of the pricing strategies of the main operators of Russian telecommunication market. Within the first article, the authors calculated the concentration ratios within the industry. Their values lead them to the conclusion about the “diluted” oligopoly that has fully emerged by now in the mobile communication market. As the result of our research, the authors came to certain conclusions about the character of the pricing policies of the main mobile operators of the Russian Federation, as well as the strategies they implement in view of the price differentiation within the different regions.
