This article is devoted to the opinions of prominent Russian emigrant historian G. V. Vernadsky on the history of Ukraine and Ukrainian question and the discussion of these problems with the others Eurasianists (N. S. Trubeckoi, P. N. Savicky). The author uses the historian's published works, published his unpublished articles and his correspondence from the Butler Library Bakhmeteff Archives in Columbia University (USA). G. V Vernadsky's views are analyzed in a rather broad context, in particular, in unity with the views of his father, the famous scientist and philosopher V. I. Vernadsky, who had a huge impact on his son. The article shows how big a role was given by historian to the Ukraine's role in Russian history, how deeply he analyzed the complex Ukrainian question. We also offer a previously unpublished article, Prince Trubetskoy and the Ukrainian question, which G. V. Vernadsky wrote in the late 1930s. Refs 58.
