The paper deals with the finds of fossilized fragments of plants dating back to the Palaeolithic age. Different types of fossils found in 19 locations of the Russian plain have been thoroughly examined taking into account all previous research and numerous publications. It is shown that fossils could have been exchanged, made part of «palaeoart» and even used as «magic» objects.
