Abstract: In connection with the changes in Russian society, we can identify a symbolic nineties generation, consisting of those who lived through the past decade as youth, when sensitivity to social life is highest (hardly anything changed in society before 1987). Subsequent changes in Russia's geopolitical situation, in the political and economic system, and in many spheres of everyday life add up to a change in the social conditions of socialization and widen the differences between generations. This is also true of German society, which has undergone its own profound changes in the last few years, leading to the formation of a generation in the reunited country that is distinct from previous generations of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the former German Democratic Republic (GDR).
