N2 - Ethereum is the most popular altcoin today. It is a platform for large decentralized platforms and thousands of DApps. It was this blockchain that gave the crypto community such technologies as NFT and DAO. On September 15, 2022, Ethereum switched to the Proof-Of-Stake consensus algorithm. In this article, we review the existing blockchain architecture and token standards, compare the difference before and after the transition, identify existing problems, and review existing solutions. We evaluate the performance of FT and NFT creation; consider the solution to the Ethereum scaling with ZkSync; evaluate alternative platforms for creating tokens such as Open Sea or switching to other blockchains like Polygon, Fantom or Binance Smart Chain using cross-chain bridges.
