However, the situation is rapidly changing, based on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) data. For the past three years, Russia has reached the level of post-socialist countries in entrepreneurial intentions, earning total early-stage entrepreneurial activity (TEA) indicators. These indicators have not reached the BRICS TEA mean value but demonstrate definite growth. Therefore, the share of entrepreneurs in the working population will likely continue to increase. This raises the longstanding question of the impact of entrepreneurship on economic development. Thus far, researchers are yet to reach a consensus on this issue. On the one hand, a positive relationship between economic growth and the number of entrepreneurs is recorded in developed countries. However, on the other hand, many Latin American and African countries with many entrepreneurs in the working population do not demonstrate sustainable economic development. Hence, this chapter will discuss these issues from the Russia perspective. The main research questions are – what is optimal percentage of the population involved in entrepreneurship and what traits should entrepreneurs possess to contribute to economic growth and development? The chapter will examine this question in the context of the distinctive features of Russian entrepreneurship.",
