N2 - The results of the detailed investigation of the chemical bonding and electronic structure features for the series of fluorinated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (F-MWCNTs) with different fluorine concentrations (5-55%) using X-ray absorption and photoelectron spectroscopy are outlined. All measurements were performed with the use of synchrotron radiation at the BESSY II. The C1s and F1s absorption and photoelectron spectra point to formation of covalent chemical bonding between the fluorine and carbon atoms in F-MWCNTs.
