N2 - A model or self-consistent kinetic description of a low-pressure afterglow plasma was developed and applied to simulate the transient phenomena taking place under conditions where the EDF is not quasistationary. Strongly non-Maxwellian EDFs were predicted. It was observed that, depending on plasma conditions, the transient period may be rather long.
