Glasses consisting of gallium sulfide, germanium sulfide, and chloride of singly charged cations (Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Ag, and Tl) possess a considerable ionic conductivity (up to 10-3 Ω-1 cm-1 at the softening temperature). The dependences of the activation energy for ionic conduction on the concentration of cations and their ionic radii are adequately described within the simple model. This implies that these glasses can be considered good solid electrolytes and also convenient model systems for further investigations of ion transfer.
