The influence of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and CMC + poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) binders on electrochemical performance of ZnFe2O4 anode was studied. The application of composite water-soluble conductive binder CMC + PEDOT:PSS significantly enhanced the anode's specific capacity to 1088 mAh∙g−1 after 100 cycles. Coulombic efficiency was improved from 71 % with PVDF to 77 % with CMC and 77 % with CMC + PEDOT:PSS. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy demonstrated lower charge transfer resistance of 76 Ohm∙mg for CMC + PEDOT:PSS compared to 132 Ohm∙mg for PVDF, indicating better electrode stability.
