N2 - An increase in the static strength of materials operating in extreme service conditions does not enable one to judge the reliability of resulting products. This report describes the features of material deformation observed as the deformation rate increases in the cases of aluminum and titanium alloys. The possibility of choosing a material for given service conditions is discussed in terms of the structural-temporal approach.
