The article deals with economic growth in different scaled economies, namely resource–poor and resource-abundant (resource-rich) countries and chances for the latter conversion into knowledge-based, culture-driven mode of sustainable development. The goal of the article is to promote the idea of resource-rich economies which find themselves at different stages of transitivity overcoming from curse to blessing type of sustainable development. The hypothesis of the article is that sustainable economic development and continuous economic growth in transitive economies could be achieved due to rent capitalism model formation in the large resource-rich countries proceeding specific mode of behavior.
