The Gough-Stewart platform was used in designing dynamic stands for teaching and training pilots and drivers and also for fail-safe testing of onboard systems of planes and flying devices. The kinematics of the Stewart platform was studied and the algorithm of finding the set of achievable positions of the platform was proposed. The Newton-Euler formalism was used for investigating the platform dynamics along with the Lagrange formalism and the special form of the equations of solid motion. The Stewart-platform motion was controlled with the help of six pneumatic cylinders and the effect of a delay in the control was considered in the investigations.
