Abstract: BM@N (Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron) is an experiment at NICA (Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAcility). The first physics runs with experimental data taking were carried out in 2018. Particle identification is necessary for the physical analysis of the matter produced in collision of the beam with the target. This paper describes identification algorithms based on the nσ method and a variation of the distance method. The algorithms were tested on simulated data; the results on identification efficiency and the percentage of contamination for different particle types are presented.
