During the 8th cruise of the Geolog Fersman in 1990, a detailed study of bottom sediments was made with a towed geophysical instrument package in an area of the Northeastern Basin of the Pacific Ocean about 13° N and 131° E. The instruments in the towed deep-water package were intended for the study of the physical properties, composition and structure of the upper interval of bottom sediments. The system is used to study the electric resistivity, the natural electric fields, natural gamma activity and density.
