A method of using magnetic-tape cassettes in a system for control, acquisition, processing, and storage of data from a scanning Auger attachment to an electron spectrometer is described. An interface for an A318-6 cassette recorder and an Elektronika-60 microcomputer under control of the RAFOS operating system is described.
