We consider the problem about oscillations of acoustic medium in the half space, bounded by a thin elastic plate, backed by a thin straight-line homogeneous rib of rigidity (a stiffener). Suppose that the incident field from the medium onto the plate is absent. We show that in this case a wave along the stiffener may exist. Conditions of existence of this wave are obtained.
