Abstract: The complex formation of nickel(II) and copper(II) ions with 4,4′-bipyridine in non-aqueous solvents—dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, acetonitrile, ethanol and methanol was studied by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. Stability constants of the resulting complexes were calculated.
