Abstract: We estimate the yields of particles at central rapidities and large transverse momenta in the region outside NN-kinematics (the so-called cumulative region) in AuAu collisions. We suppose that particles in this kinematical region are produced by scattering from the clusters of cold dense quark–gluon matter present inside nuclei—the nuclear “fluctons”. We found that in this new cumulative region the yields of pions compared to the yields of protons will be less suppressed at the same value of the cumulative number, in contrast with the situation in a traditional cumulative region of nucleus fragmentation. This effect is caused by a stronger decrease of the cumulative proton yield with transverse momentum compared to pions. That could be evidence of the different formation mechanisms of these cumulative particles—the coherent coalescence (recombination) of three flucton quarks for a proton and the fragmentation of one flucton quark for a pion. We also discuss the need to use the future internal vertex tracker of MPD at NICA for the suppression of the contribution from the event pile-up when registering the particles formed from fragmentation of the flucton residue.
