The equilibrium of the initial axisymmetric state of a their elastic shell of revolution under tension has been considered. The influence of boundary conditions and initial stresses has been studied. The problem has been solved in the linear approximation. The part of the spherical shell limited by two parallels has been considered as an example. Approximate asymptotic formulae have been compared with results of numerical integration.
