The article interprets a word twice attested in Mycenaean tablets in the form sa-ra-pe-do[(PY Er 880) and sa-ra-pe-da (PY Un 718). The word sara-pe-da has usually been understood as a toponym designating an unidentifiable locality on the periphery of the Pylos kingdom. On the basis of an earlier suggestion to view sa-ra-pe-da in the tablet PY Un 718 as an epiclesis of Poseidon (*Σαλασπεδάς) it is now suggested that sa-ra-pe-do[may be interpreted as a genitive from a parallel formation in -ων (*Σαλασπεδων).This interpretation would mean that the plot of land, mentioned in PY Er 880 as belonging to the king e-ke-ra 2-wo, planted with fig-trees and vines, must have been situated on the sacred land of Poseidon.
