This article is devoted to the fate of historians of the Petrograd Theological Academy after 1917. The text traces the life of eleven professional historians who had to look for a new “place” in life after the radical restructuring of the Russian state and the closure of religious schools. Historians, along with other Petrograd scholars, took part in the preservation of theological education in the former capital, but to no avail. Some scientists did not survive the hard years of the revolution and the Civil war and was killed. Some were able to get a job in the GPB, the archives of Petrograd, but were repressed in the late 20s, early 30s. Happy exceptions here is N. N. Glubokovsky, who was able to successfully continue his academic career in emigration, and FR. Vasily Maksimovich Veryuzhsky, who, as a priest (!), survived the 20s, 30s and became one of the lecturers of the Leningrad Theological Academy opened in 1946.
