The direction of migrations in juvenile Acrocephalus schoenobaenus was studied on the basis of the data on ringing recoveries in Estonia. A strongly pronounced period in the postnesting migration without definite direction is shown to exist within the annual cycle of this species. The main reason of such movements is likely searching for insect aggregations which are used by animals for the premigratory fattening.
