The article is devoted to the main trends and features of bilateral Franco-Yugoslav relations in the last two decades of the Cold War. Despite the fact that the positions of Paris and Belgrade were in solidarity on a number of international issues, quite often contradictions arose between the two countries, which, nevertheless, could be resolved quickly enough. After coming in the early 1980s. socialists came to power in France, bilateral contacts became even more intense, although Francois Mitterrand’s policy towards Yugoslavia was sometimes notable for its inconsistency.
