Interralationship between the level of cholesterol containing circulating immune complexes and intensity of chemiluminescence of lipids was studied in blood serum from 53 patients with and in 10 subjects without ischemic heart disease. Compared to subjects without ischemic heart disease the patients had significant elevation of concentration of cholesterol containing circulating immune complexes and increased intensity of serum chemiluminescence induced by iron ions in the presence of peroxide. In patients with ischemic heart disease concentration of cholesterol containing circulating immune complexes correlated positively with the magnitude of serum luminescence and negatively - with the level of high density lipoproteins. History of myocardial infarction changed the direction of correlations between capacity of lipoproteins for oxidation and content of cholesterol containing circulating immune complexes.
