Ichthyosaurs, especially in the last period of their existence, lived mainly in upwelling zones characterized by high biological productivity. Extinction of the ichthyosaurs was linked with great turnover of ecosystems in the period from Cenomanian to Late Turonian. A list of localities with the remnants of ichthyosaurs in the USSR is given.-English summary
