The influence of different plant communities to the mineral composition of sandy quarries was studied on the example of forest-tundra zone of West Siberia. The deepest change of mineral composition takes place under mosses and lichens communities. The result of this is loss of smectite phase from clay size fraction. There are not any changes of mineral composition under vascular plants.
