The detailed investigation of nearly three tens of outcrops of the Latorpian Regional Superstage in the Leningrad region allowed to determine the direct zonation in lithology of the "Glauconite sandstone" and the lower part of the "Glauconite limestone" along the Russian part of the Baltic-Ladoga Glint. Five lithofacial zones differentiated by lithology, thickness and completeness were recognized in the outcrop chain. The boundaries of lithofacial zones coincide with narrow fracture-flexure zones. At present, these fracture-flexure zones separate large blocks of the Ordovician Plateau at different altitudes, and thus the block tecktonic plays an important role in the formation of modern physiography. We proposed that depositional zonation during Latorpian time was connected with the alternation of uplifted and submerged plots of the bottom reflected former hypsometric levels of the tops of the same blocks. The former chart of the litostratigraphical units is considered as erroneous, and the new chart allowed for lithofacial zonality is suggested for the investigated interval.
