abstract = "Introduction. Subjective well-being is an important success predictor in stressful circumstances of nowadays life. This fact inspires studies aimed at finding psychological characteristics associated with subjective wellbeing. We hypothesized that components of existential fulfillment and socio-psychological adaptability are the predictors of subjective well-being of students. Research methodology and methods. Our respondents were 152 college students (33 men and 119 women), 17-27 years old. We used 'The Existence Scale' (A. Langle, C. Orgler) adapted by I.N. Majnina and A.U. Vasanov; 'Subjective Well-being Scale' (A.Perue-Badu) adapted by M.V. Sokolova; 'the Satisfaction With Life Scale' (E. Diener) adapted by E.N. Osin and D.A.Leontiev; Social Psychological Adaptability (C. Rogers, R. Diamond) adapted by A.K. Osnitsky. We analyzed correlations with Mann–Whitney U-test and conducted a regression analysis. Research result. We did not find any statistically significant differences in our measures between sexes. We discovered multiple correlations between parameters of subjective well-being, existential fulfillment and socio-psychological adaptability. Self-transcendence as a component of existential fulfillment was identified as positive predictor of cognitive (β = 0,17, p≤0.05) and emotional (β = - 0,29, p≤0.01) components of subjective well-being; emotional comfort as a component of socio-psychological adaptability was identified as positive predictor of cognitive (β = 0,46, p≤0.01) and emotional (β = - 0,35, p≤0.01) components of subjective well-being. We also found that acceptance of obligatory rules and regulations has a positive correlation with parameters of existential fulfillment Person (r=0,26, p≤0.01) and cognitive (r=0,21, p≤0.05) and emotional (r=- 0,23, p≤0.01) components of subjective well-being. Discussion of results and conclusion. The results of this study show that experiencing existential significance of life events and the relatedness of self to world values, as well as feeling emotional comfort are important for subjective well-being of students.",
