N2 - This article reports the results from an experiment where different audial stimuli were tested to prove the correlation between F0 variability and speaker identification success rate. 7 speakers were recorded while speaking (i) normally and (ii) imitating a person of another gender; 20 respondents were then asked to comment on whether each recording was made by a man or a woman. Eventually, a reasonable codependency rate between the fact of using particular F0 ranges and the level of imitation success has been noticed. However, F0 variations happen to be not the only feature linked to the speaker recognition success rate. There is, therefore, a definite need for conducting analogous experiments to single out other characteristics pivotal for successful undertaking this kind of tasks.
