abstract = "This article aims to define the main directions of maritime cooperation between Russia and the Asia-Pacific states and to highlight their key features. Maritime policy represents a strategic dimension of state policy focused on interaction with foreign states in both the naval sphere and maritime economic activity, with the ultimate goal of strengthening security, economic ties, and political influence. Utilizing a case-study methodology, this research identifies the specific characteristics of Russia's maritime interaction with Asia-Pacific states, its potential advantages and disadvantages, and prospects for future cooperative development. Two primary domains of cooperation have emerged within the Russian Federation's maritime policy: naval cooperation and cooperation in maritime economic activity, with the naval sphere being particularly prevalent. The study identifies three distinct levels of Russia's naval cooperation with Asia-Pacific nations. The first level is in-depth naval cooperation, characterized by the export andimport of naval weaponry and equipment, established institutional contact between naval departments at various levels, and regular joint naval exercises and patrols demonstrating a shared determination to oppose external threats; this level of cooperation is exemplified by Russia's relationship with China. The second level comprises partially deepened cooperation, where interaction exists but lacks a permanent or continuous character. The third level is characterized by symbolic naval maneuvers, currently conducted primarily with ASEAN states. In the context of escalating regional geopolitical confrontation, Russia's use of its naval forces to ensure security positively enhances its political influence. Conversely, cooperation in maritime economic activity is typically bilateral. In 2022, the redistribution of Russia'scargo flows from West to East brought the development of its merchant fleet and maritime logistics links in the regionto the forefront. Consequently, establishing maritime logistics routes and constructing robust supply lines between theRussian Federation and ASEAN countries has become a natural phenomenon. The study concludes that while navalcooperation has evolved from the mere supply of warships and submarines to comprehensive joint exercises, Russia'smaritime trade and economic activity with the Asia-Pacific states continue to expand. Furthermore, several Asia-Pacificstates remain interested in maritime economic cooperation with Russia, as their own economic growth depends on it.",
