The author analyzes causes and consequences of "globalistic" (integrational) and "counter-globalistic" (isolationistic) tendencies displayed by Russian scientists with respect to the mainstream of world psychological science, stressing those problems of and motives for integration which determine psy: chologists' attitudes to the mainstream, are determined by scientists' theoretic and methodological orientations. These orientations of specific groups of scientists ('intellectual spaces' of Russian psychology) are analyzed in the context of the place and role of national science within the mainstream. The author describes problems of and motives for integration characteristic of the 'intellectual spaces' of Russian psychology.
