Recently, some of our colleagues from among the Arabists from both Yerevan and Baku continue to disagree with us that the Arab Armīnīya, which united the Greater Armenian, Caucasian Albanian and Iberian lands of the Caliphate into a single province (vilayet) at the beginning of the 8th c., was divided into three administrative and territorial units. Our dear opponents refer to the fact that the scientific Orientalist literature has long formed an opinion on the division of Armīnīya by the Arab authorities into four parts, and this is recorded in the leading reference editions of the world. The fact, that in the early Arab-speaking literature really there are similar data. Therefore, we decided once again to duplicate our own opinions on this debatable issue with the involvement of all data as founders of the Muslim schools of historiography and geography (second half of the 9th c. – early 10th c.), and primary sources in the languages of the peoples of the Christian East.
