Depression was registered in 51.7% of cases among aesthetic surgery patients and in 47.7%
of cases among reconstructive surgery patients. The comorbidity of depression with anxiety
and obsessive-compulsive disorders among patients of both groups is significantly represented.
Patients with aesthetic surgery are characterized by depression within the framework of neurotic
and affective disorders, a typical combination of mental disorders, especially among young
patients. Patients with reconstructive surgery are characterized by a predominance of nosogenic
depression, the risk group is patients aged 18-44 years.
