The article explores the interaction of poetry and prose, as well
as various types of this interaction in literature. The main attention is paid to the activation of the poetic subtext in prose and the manifestation of the prosaic in poetry. The typologies of literary texts on the border of these genres, as well as their historical context, are considered. Eclecticism in literature is not a new phenomenon; its roots go far back in the history of the development of the arts, where the boundaries between genres and styles have always been somewhat blurred. However, it is in our days that eclecticism manifests itself especially vividly and relevant, reflecting the nature of the cultural, social and technological context in which we exist. Literature at the junction of poetry and prose becomes a means of expressing complex emotions, social issues and cultural changes, allowing authors not only to move away from established forms, but also to create new, flexible and adaptive constructions. The works in which we observe elements of both forms do not just combine different forms.
