The text below is a response to the article by A.V.Yurevich «Popular psychology» (Voprosy psychologii. 2007. N 1. P.3-14). The author agrees with the statements on the main characteristics of pop-psychology and its role in modern culture. However, the author regards pop-psychology as a socially dangerous phenomenon and believes that scientific psychology must combat irrationality and gullibility being propagated by pop-psychology.
