N2 - Операция «Марс» проводилась Красной Армией в ноябре-декабре 1942 года на Ржевско-Вяземском выступе. Калининскому и Западному фронтам предстояло разгромить 9-ю армию Моделя, которая составляла основу группы армий «Центр». Параллельно под Сталинградом осуществлялась операция «Уран», нацеленная на уничтожение 6-й армии Паулюса. Оба советских наступления имели схожие задачи и осуществлялись в рамках единого замысла Ставки ВГК примерно равным числом сил. Но если «Уран» привел к победе, то «Марс» привел к поражению и на многие годы практически исчез из официальной историографии. В данной статье авторы проследили основные вехи развития научных представлений об операции «Марс» и выявили проблемные вопросы этого исторического сюжета.The Red Army conducted Operation «Mars» on the Rzevsko-Vyazemskiy ledge in November-December 1942. Kalininsky and the Western Fronts were to defeat the 9th Army of Model, which was the basis of the group of armies "Center." At the same time, Operation «Uranus» was carried out near Stalingrad, aimed to destroy the 6th Army of Paulus. Both Soviet offensives had similar objectives and were carried out within the framework of a single plan of the Stavka of the Soviet Armed Forces with approximately equal forces. But if «Uranus» was led to victory, "Mars" failed and for many years almost disappeared from the official historiography. In this article, the authors traced the major milestones of the development of scientific ideas about Operation «Mars» and identified the problematic issues of this historical case.
