In the framework of the present article the authors reflects on the issue of Russian patriotism in modern conditions of confrontation between Russia and the West, in which our country protects its sovereignty and national interests. They affirms that the Great Patriotic War was just one of the episodes of this centuries-old geopolitical conflict between Russian and Western civilizations. The purpose of the last actions of the enemy - to split the unity of Russian society and subdue it, to destroy the Russian world, grab the natural resources of the country. In these circumstances, the most important - to instill patriotism and historical consciousness of Russians.
