The article offers a detailed review on the conference “Kagan`s Studies”, which took place in the Institute of Philosophy at St. Petersburg State University on May 17, 2019. The conference is always held in memoriam to the leader of Soviet aesthetics in Leningrad - M. S. Kagan. The main theme always considers both of the Kagan`s heritage and the actual theoretical problems in aesthetics and philosophy of art. This year the theme of the conference, according to the logic of M. S. Kagan`s research, was “Communicative strategies in modern artistic culture”. The article threatens main questions, which were discussed during the conference: communication in contemporary aesthetics, the role of curator in contemporary art and urban space as a communicative space for different art practices. The peculiarity of this conference was the update of the format: instead of the traditional sectional reports, the speakers participated in three round tables and tried to “communicate” with each other on the proposed topics.
