The majority of published microoptical gyro prototypes employ of the planar single-mode resonators of this or that configuration (single ring, multi-ring, spiral etc.). Whispering gallery modes resonators can be used as the gyro sensitive element instead of planar single-mode resonator. In this work we will consider effects arising in the whispering gallery modes resonator during its rotation and possible ways of application these resonators as sensing element of microoptical gyro.
