Copolymers of styrene with a surface-active monomer 11-acryloyloxyundecyltrimethylammonium bromide were synthesized by free radical polymerization in water and thoroughly investigated by molecular hydrodynamic techniques i.e. analytical ultracentrifugation, dynamic light scattering, viscometry. Investigations, besides in depth macromolecular analysis, focus on studying the accelerating effect of the model reaction of alkaline hydrolysis para-nitrophenyl butyrate and resolving how solubilization capacity depends on the composition of the copolymers. © The Polymer Society, Taipei 2024.
