N2 - The paper studies a linear-quadratic pollution control model for which a term named value of cooperation (VC) subordinated to value of information (VI) is introduced. Namely, the quantification of possible benefit or loss occurring under the circumstance where the players choose to play the game in a cooperative way or refuse to act as a coalition is being presented. In the paper, the construction of VC consists of the Shapley value involving four various types of characteristic functions which steer the performance of normalized value of cooperation (NVC) toward quite similar direction and an elaborate analysis related to the actual scenario is ensuing. Both of characteristics (VC and NVC) are new in the field of game theory and can be further applied to a wide class of problems. Theoretical results are demonstrated with a numerical example on the basis of pollution data contributed by three local enterprises in Penza (City of Russia).
