The reduction of green spaces is one of the most pressing environmental problems at the moment and requires urgent solutions. Therefore, identifying effective environmental monitoring methods is a top priority, especially in areas where accurate ground data are not available. The continuous development of remote sensing technologies will lead to an increase in the number of devices needed for this purpose, based on information about the Earth's surface. One of the most advanced Earth observation (EO) programs is Copernicus, established by the European Space Agency (ESA). It includes the Sentinel series of satellites that continuously deliver images that can serve as input for further environmental analysis. They can be used in the Sentinel Application Platform (SNAP), software developed by ESA. The Sentinel-2 (S-mission is specifically designed to monitor the Earth's surface. It collects highly accurate data in the visible and infrared bands of the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS), which are used in forest cover monitoring. At the same time, the S-2 images were processed in Python, which in 2017 will determine the possibility of tracking changes for the first time in the Bukhara region. For this Copernicus Open Hub platform, photos have been uploaded with the most interesting destinations for April 2016, 2018 and 2020. As part of the environmental analysis, a set of selected radiometric and biophysical indicators was calculated to preliminary determine their suitability for a deforestation map. The most effective indicators were the MERIS Terrestrial Chlorophyll Index (MTCI) and the Brightness Index (BI). Normalized Plant Differentiation Indices (NDVI) and Vegetation Indices (RVI) also showed encouraging results. The results were achieved using the Python IDE and Anaconda distributions.
