The crystal structure of the new organically templated uranyl selenite-selenate [C 2H 8N][(H 5O 2)(H 2O)][(UO 2) 2(SeO 4) 3(H 2SeO 3)](H 2O) is based upon complex layers with a unique topology, which was not observed previously in inorganic compounds.
