This paper examines whether United Nations Peace Operations can succeed in missions within the borders of a single state, in the situation of civil war or humanitarian catastrophe. Paper concludes discussing what these results tell us about situations that involve a variety of global, regional and local actors in the midst of a violent armed conflict
