The structure of inviscid transonic flow with a local supersonic region in a channel is numerically studied. The arising of shock waves is analyzed at small deviations of the Mach number prescribed at the outlet from the on-design value which corresponds to a steady shock-free flow. A few patterns of formation and propagation of the shock waves are established and discussed.
