N2 - The structure of inviscid transonic flow with a local supersonic region in a channel with an airfoil placed on the lower wall is numerically studied. Arising of shock waves at small deviations of the airfoil from the shockless shape for the on-design Mach number prescribed at the outlet of the channel is analyzed. A few patterns of formation and propagation of the shock waves are established and discussed.
