New important aspect of the transition economies of the Visegrad Group was to build the competitiveness of their national economies towards the integration into the global market economy and the European structures. The countries passed an important stage of transformation during which they reformed social system of centrally planned economy. Implementation of economic reforms has been accompanied by systemic qualitative and quantitative changes, including the factors that led to the gradual adaptation to form market environments. The fundamental objectives of the V4 in the first decade were filled by successful implementation of socio-economic transformation, deepening regional cooperation. Such global and regional processes, which the given country currently go through, can be regarded as successful. JEL Classification: E6, R10
