We study the self-adjoint operator rot in an arbitrary domain Ω ⊂ ℝ³ of finite measure. The spectrum of this operator is discrete. One can prove Weyl’s asymptotic formula for its eigenvalues. Under an additional condition on the boundary of the domain, it is possible to obtain an estimate of the remainder.
